remember, there's a very important GSA meeting this thursday after school. it is the last meeting, and it will determine whether or not we will even have a GSA next year. if you care about the cause, be there.

Hey there! This is Marie, I don't attend very many GSA meetings... but I was wondering... does our GSA intend to do anything pertainting to the LIA thing? Posters or something? I'll make them if you can get them SGA approved...

LIA = Love In Action. That anti-gay camp in Tennessee.

oh! I just did a whole lot of research on that the other day, I just didn't recognize the letters when they stood alone. As far as this year, unfortunately, the year is over. We have the leadership for next year set up now, and we're going to map out next year at the beginning of the year. Hopefully someone will shut that place down before then, but I'm sure it will become a topic for next year. As for attending protests, they're all had in tennessee, and that can be seen as a problem for us to actively participate . If you hear about any local protests, please let us know about it.

I forgot to mention the posters. Usually only posters pertaining to school activities get SGA approved, and since we're not actively doing anything about LIA, I don't think they'd let us put up a poster simply informing people about it.

What if we were doing a petition?

it's possible. I'd say, if you want to do it this year, make one potential poster and then go to mrs. underwood in room C119 and see if she would approve it. if yes, make up to 50 copies of it to get stamped by her, and then find me if you'd like me to help you put them up. GSA is officially over for the year, but you don't neccessarily need a club or anything for a flier. just have it say something like, "STOP INHUMANITY, SIGN THE PETITION" and list details of Refuge in a smaller font beneath it, and give a place of where the petition can be signed. you'd probably have to find a teacher who'd be willing to sponsor the event. if no one else, mr. pafumi might. let me know if you have problems getting this arranged. 571 431 8908
